Plant of the Week – Marigolds

Today is September 26, it is the perfect fall morning at a crisp 52 degrees with plenty of sunshine…wait.  This may be one of the oddest summers I can recall.  I will never cease to be surprised by what Indiana has to offer!  Eagleson Landscape Co. is currently working out on a country property, which for me, has only added to the fall ambiance.  I can not tell you what it is about country scenery and the feeling of Fall, but it is beautiful!  I have a classic perennial for you to read about this week.  It represents the coming of fall in our hearts here at Eagleson Landscape Co, as a late season boost of color to our own garden.  Enjoy this weeks Plant of the Week as we talk about Marigolds!

Marigolds are a full sun annual that blooms throughout the Summer and Fall.  It’s bright orange and yellow colors are what instill the sense of fall into us here at Eagleson Landscape Co.  Marigolds are some of the easiest and prettiest annuals one can plant in their garden.  To get the most out of your Marigolds simply dead head old flowers, water when the soil is dry and plant them in full sun.  A little care will go a long way and they will repay you ten fold your efforts, as they will bloom continuously all summer long.  No surprise they are also some of the most popular annuals around!Marigold Bloom

Great in containers, as cut flowers or just to brighten up your yard, Marigolds are a fantastic annual for your landscape.  Read more about them here!  It’s not to late to add some color to your garden!
